Let’s Go to Bed
This blog has registered record numbers in the past few days thanks solely to an influx of Cure fans who found my post about the Robert Smith interview (I figure if I use those exact words again it’ll be enough for few more Google hits). Who knew Robert Smith was so big in Slovakia?
But for now, Robert Smith is old news. Until next week sometime, when he’ll suddenly become new news again, when the SCMP prints my story. And then, hopefully, in New Zealand, where a paper there will, hopefully, pick up a different version of the story. I’ll post links when they come up and, all going well, post much of the interview transcript here.
But, as I was saying, for now I shall return to my roots — which is to say, the shit that no one wants to read about.
Today I bought a ‘Princess’ canopy bed with porcelain finishing, which is astoundingly awesome. I’ve taken a lot of flack from friends and colleagues, who have questioned both my sexuality and gender — but not my bargain sense. It cost me HK$2,000 to get the bed, complete with delivery to Lamma and assembly by a poor bastard who lugged the thing over all by himself. The mattress is probably the best I’ve ever had, if just a tad too small for the frame. Just take a look at my beautiful darling.
Yeah, I know — my room looks like a jail cell. But come on, I haven’t even been in it a week. I still don’t even have posters to put up. Next priority: curtains for the canopy.
That’s enough for tonight. I have to spend some time with a new four-legged friend…
